The level 1 Award in wines is an Entry Level Qualification providing a straightforward introduction to wine. It is ideal for boosting the confidence of the wine consumer and the new or inexperienced front line staff in the hospitality and retail sectors. It is also a great course for those wanting to know the main grape varieties and food and wine matching.

This Qualification is for those who would like to improve their knowledge of wine and is recommended for anyone who is in the hospitality industry and/or the front-of-house staff within the on-trade sector. This programme has grown into a course with Global appeal, providing basic knowledge of wine to the enthusiast and for the first time employees in the wine industry.
How will you benefit?
The aim of the course is to give a basic introduction into wine followed by some basic food and wine matching. After completing the course and passing the final exam, you will be award with an Internationally Recognised Certificate in Wine
Students and candidates who are under the legal minimum age for the retail purchase of alcoholic beverages in the country where the examination is being held will NOT be allowed to sample any alcoholic beverages as part of their course, but this is NOT a barrier for successfully completing the qualification.
